It's April....already!?

Well,

Here I sit again another month gone by. I'm sitting here thinking of all the things I should be doing besides posting a blog.....like some housecleaning, yard work, some exercise, etc. I just got back from a nice brisk 40 minute walk with the girls (Lainey and Phoebe, that is.) They are now both fast asleep on the couch behind me.....so precious. :)

Well, an update on my new job-UPS Freight. Its going well, I've picked up all the major duties I'll be doing each night, and a few here and there, when my manager decides to show me something new. This job is NOT rocket science by any means.....so it's become a bit boring for me. Not that I'm a rocket scientist, but the fact that its the exact same routine every day.....drives me to the boredom side. Also, I can sit at the dock desk for anywhere from 10 minutes to 45-50 minutes without anything to do. I can't even get on the Internet to dink around to spend some down time. Not even solitaire is on this computer!!! AHHHH-I'm going crazy with nothing to do. Not to mention the fact that its late at night and it's just a major adjustment on my schedule of things.

Last night (well this morning) I got off just before 1 am......so I get home, quickly wind myself down and try to fall asleep. I think I was asleep about 1:30......1:32 was the last I remember on the clock. Then, the alarm goes off for Chris to get up at 4:20 am!!! So therefore, I've been asleep for about 3 hours......so I get back up and feed the girls, see him off for the gym/work, and I lay myself back down (on the couch or back in bed) and usually don't get up until 10-11. I hate that!! It makes me feel like the whole day is wasted!!! I know I have plenty of time left in the day, but my old regular routine clock tells me that I've just wasted the majority of good hours of the day-SLEEPING!! So I'm still adjusting. I'm still applying left and right for full time day jobs.....but nothing is coming up.

So until further a due (sp?), I'm off to tackle some of the days tasks.

A New door opens.....

Well, here we are in the first days of March already!! I can't believe how fast the year has begun.

I'm sticking to my new resolution of writing a couple blogs a month to get myself in the habit of keeping up on this. It's such an easy way to keep everyone up to date on me/us without emailing everyone separately. So nice!

Well, as you know, my job search has been frustrating. I went to take the test for the USPS last Wednesday. It was pretty easy, straight forward. I passed! So who knows when and if I'll hear about a job there. Well, I got home from my testing and was just passing the time as usual working on applications online, etc, when the phone rang. I didnt recognize the phone number so I was hoping it would be some employer prospect. It was a guy from UPS freight. I laughed a bit thinking of all eggs in my basket, this is the one that hatches! He was really nice and asked if I wanted to meet for an interview, I scheduled that same day to meet.

Well, I went in knowing it would be for a night shift....6pm-midnight, Mon-Fri. I passed a quick typing test and a quick 10 ley test. I have tojump at the opportunity because at this point, this is the only door to have opened for me. I was told I would hear back the middle to end of this week; well I heard from him Friday of the same week I interviewed (I take that as a good sign). I'm meeting today (3-2) with him again to get all the final paperwork together and see when I'll start. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for my chance to jump on full time and/or day shift.

I'm planning on keeping my current PT job with Starbucks at Safeway. I'm just gonna be working days there for a change.....so hopefully they will still put me on the schedule a couple days a week....and not just weekends.....since I'll offically have weekends off from this new UPS job. :) I'm looking forward to a challenging new opportunity here.

Resolution to Blog More!

Okay, I'll try this again. I had just finished a really good blog about how I'm now resolving to blog more. Well, I tried to edit the layout and it erased my whole story! AHHHH (I'm still new to this whole blogging thing). So I'm now saving this post before editing the silly layout.


Okay.....so I haven't posted as often as I thought I would here. I guess I just think there isn't that much interesting stuff going on in my life to share wiht others. Fact is.....people will read just about anything! So from here forward, I have decided to dedicate myself to 2-3 blogs per month to begin with.....this will get me in the habit of coming to this site more regularly and feedback/comments from others will encourage me to continue.


If anyone has ideas, questions, interests, etc send me a note....I need some ideas for blogs....and I need to post a few to get in the hang of things.

Happy Holidays!

To all our friends and family......Happy Holidays!
This is my first time trying this whole blogging thing out. Hopefully i can keep up with it so everyone knows how things are going.

Well, Christmas is fast approaching. It's been SO HARD for me to get in the spirit of things this year. I mean I love Christmas time. But it took me three whole days to get my tree up and decorated! I just am not as into it this year, because of losing my job and not really having an exciting Christmas. I haven't been out shopping for gifts, which I know isn't what Christmas is about, but that always helps me get in the mood for Christmas. No wrapping....I LOVE wrapping presents. We're having a couple friends over for Dinner on Christmas so that will be a nice time.

No luck on a job yet either, I'm secretly depressed a bit about this fact! I hate not working. I'm working part time at the Starbucks inside the new Laveen Safeway, but it's not nearly enough money or hours to survive on that job alone. I'm sticking with it as a 2nd job, whenever a 1st job comes around. Wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me! I hope something will come around after the 1st of the year! I'll keep everyone posted!!
